Shipley, William (Davies), born at Midgham, berks, s. Jonathan, dean of Winchester. CHRIST CHURCH, matrix 21 Dec 1763, aged 18; B.A. 1769, M.A. 1771, rector of Skeviog, co. Flint 1770 and vicar of Wrexham, co. Denbigh, 1771, dean of St Asaph 1774, and chancellor of the diocese until his death 7 May 1826, father of Charles.
[Note that the death in the above differs from that in Burke. DNB, 1st edn, supports Foster and adds that WDS died at Bodrhyddan.]
