At marriage, he was ‘Adam Ogilvie younger’ so his father must have had the same forename. TFPL, June 2012: I can find no records for this family of Hartwoodmyres.

Scotland’s People has a scan on this marriage record with the identifier of “28/10/1708 Ogilvie, Adam [OPR Marriages 778/00 0010 0216 Selkirk]”. I have transcribed it as:
“October 2d 1708.
“Adam Ogilvie younger of Hardwoodmyres in this parish and Jean Areskin sister to John Eskine of Shielfield in the parish of Mawton gabering (?) their names to be proclaimed contracted and married the twentieth eight day of October 1708 years. Cautions for both parties. Thomas Hamms scholar (?) in Selkirk.”
