In the 1881 census, there is a Fisk family living in 8 Brockley Terrace, Southward, Surrey. The head is Alfred aged 34 and born in Southwark, and his wife is Julia aged 30; with them was a nephew William Holmes, confirming that the wife was Julia Louisa Holmes. So this Julia was born in 1851 in Southwark, Surrey!
In the 1911 census, Julia Fisk was in a workhouse, born in 1852 in Southwark.
My tentative conclusion is that Napoleon’s wife was the first of these two Julias and born in Thirsk in 1848. However no Julia Argles can be found in any English and Welsh census from 1881, the first after marriage, to 1911.
