Birthca May 1889, Peckham, London
Notes for Alfred George Turner
This looks like his birth, Peckham from the census being in Camberwell:
Surname First name(s) District Vol Page
Births Jun 1889 (>99%)
Turner Alfred George Camberwell 1d 870
______________
TFPL, May 2019: In 1901 he was with his uncle Joseph James Turner in Dumfries at "Lambholm, Kirkmichael, Dumfriesshire, Scotland" and was a scholar:
First name(s Last name Relationship Marital status Sex Age Birth year Occupation Birth place
Joseph I Turner - Single Male 50 1851 Living On Own Means Ceylon
Alfred G Turner - Single Male 11 1890 Scholar England
As his parents are not to be found in the English or Scottish censuses, I wonder if they had gone abroad and parked young Alfred on his uncle while they settled down?
More probably a death entry in Camberwell in 1893 possibly for his mother might account for her disappearance from all other records.
_______________
Possible death from 1889 to c. 1950:
Surname First name(s) Age District Vol Page
Deaths Dec 1900 (>99%)
Turner Alfred George 10 Aston 6d 208
But Aston does not sound right, not to mention that he was alive in 1901!
