Notes for Arthur Barnard
He was not found in 1881 and living as a visitor with a family in London in 1891.
While he was with his wife in the 1901 census, there is no sign of him in England and Wales in 1911.
There are six Arthur Barnards who died between 1911 and 1947 and were born in 1873. I have no idea of any of these are him; none were Arthur Alison (from his marriage record and very clear on the index sheet on FindMyPast).
Burke says his father was Samuel Barnard a barrister of St Lucia; it does not give Arthur’s death.
There are too many Arthur Barnard death records to guess which, if any, might have been his.
He was alive in 1937 as he is in his wife’s probate index entry. Was he in the 1939 register? No sign of him.
I have also searched the probate indices from 1937 to 1973 when he would have been a hundred and no sign of any Arthur Alison Barnard. Had he moved abroad? But nothing in FindMyPast’s World death indices either.
