Notes for Dorothy Allsopp
In 1891, four weeks before her birth, her parents were living in Worcester; he was 29, an MP and a brewery director; she was 20.
In 1901 she was with her widowed grandfather, John A Chesshire, a clregyman. Her father was ‘married’, on his own, with three servants, in Worcester. No sign of her mother, Lillian.
In 1911 her parents were together in Worcester but she was not there. her mother Lillian’s report said they had been married for 20 years and had one and only one child. It looks like Dorothy was with a Martin family in Wareham, Dorset.
