Notes for Sarah Edmondson
TFPL. Oct 2019: In four out of five birth in the new GRO indices her surname was spelled EDMONDSON. The fifth only was EDMUNSON. So I have changed her maiden surname from the latter to the former. Her newly ddiscovered marriage register entry, with her signature, agrees with this decision.

There was another Sarah Kenrick whose death was registered in the fairly nearby Gt Boughton District in Q3 of 1852. This date ties in better with the age of William’s yst son in 1861. But this was the unmarried sister of her husband.
Curioser and curioser. In 1871 at Ruabon hall, she pops up again at Wynn Hall....

The above pair, Sarah and John, are in the 1861 census, living in Brymbo; he was a coal miner.
Similarly in 1881, with Sarah still born in Lancaster. But a son Lel(?) was also there, a coal factor. Both sons were born in Ruabon.
In 1891, no sign of anyone.
In 1901, Samuel Ll(ewelyn) Kenrick, solicitor, was there with a housekeeper, his Clerk as a boarder and a housemaid.
In 1911, Samuel Llewelyn was still there, married to Lilian Maud for 1.5 years but no children and with 2 servants.

Her almost certain baptism, with a birth date:

Last name Edmondson
Birth year 1811
Birth date 10 Dec 1811
Baptism year 1812
Baptism date 21 Feb 1812

Mother's first name(s) Rachel

The National Archives reference TNA/RG/4/130
Description LANCASHIRE: Lancaster, High Street (Independent) : Baptisms
In support of this is that she consistently gave Lancaster as her birth place and gave her father as James at marriage and in the 1851 census her mother Rachel was staying with her at Wynn Hall and in 1851 gave her age as 38, making her born in 1813.
________________
When did she die?
In 1861 her husband, with her mother Rachel still alive and living with him, reported himself to be a Widower. But this was a transcription error: in fact he reported that he was married and the transcriber misunderstood the lack of a wife in the house.
By 1871 he had died and she was a widow, back in Wynn Hall. She reports her age as 59 and was calculated to have been born in 1812; the true calulation for the 10 Dec 1811 birth was 69 so her report was correct.
In 1881 she and John were both still at Wynn Hall, she said she was 69 so born in fact in 1811, though the enumerator calculated this to be 1812.
In 1891 she was with her daughter Sarah Savage Minshall in Hampstead (though named 'Jenrick').
No sign of her in 1901.

Or, if she had moved south, a better match with her known birth year:
Name Age at Death (in years):
KENRICK, SARAH 79
GRO Reference: 1891 J Quarter in HAMPSTEAD Volume 01A Page 547
A will has been found for a Sarah Kenrick of Tunbridge Wells who died on 29th October 1888. But I cannot identify the details with the family members mentioned in the will. So I am excluding her from the identity of this Sarah Kenrick.
Finally, hopefully, a death that satisfies a few more criteria, and corresponds with what Graeme Wall has in his pedigree:
First name(s) SARAH
Last name KENRICK
Gender Female
Birth year 1812
Age 79
Death quarter 2
Death year 1891

The Deeath Duty Registers give a data of death as 20 June 1891. But no will record found. Nor a burial. Nor any notice in papers on FindMyPast.
