In 1871 he was back in England, at Finchampstead, Berks and they now had a two year old son “E. G.” and born in London.

In 1881 they were still at Finchhampstead; E.G. was not at home.

In 1891 he and Charlotte were living in lodgings in Ryde, Hants and he was shown as recently blind, aged 72.  With them was an Edward G Wetherall, aged 21, born in 1870 in Westminster and a working in the Librarians Dept of the Foreign Office; a son?  Must be, born in W London.
