No marriage or death can be found for him on FreeBMD up to 1930. Nor is he in the 1891 and 1901 censuses.
This CWGC entry might be him:
In Memory of Private L B GRAY 41897, 11th Bn., East Yorkshire Regiment who died on 18 April 1918.
In 1911 his mother said that only two of her five children were surviving. Clearly Beatrice and Eric were alive as they died after 1911. So it looks as he he had died before 1911, but no record is to be found on FreeBMD.
