Three Elizabeth Docwras in the 1851 census:

(a) Elizabeth Docwra in Bassingbourn Workhouse, Herts who was said to be 69, a widow and born in Linton, Cambs.  (While she was classified as General Servant, so were all women; men were all Farm Labourers.)

(b) Elizabeth D, the wife of Jabez D, so not possibly the same as this Elizabeth.

(c) Elizabeth D, wife of Montford D, again not possibly this Elizabeth.

So the first could be her.  But at 69, she was a bit too old for someone who was 50 ten years previously.  However for the 1841 census they gave the age as the nearest five years below their current age, so her true age in 1841 could have been anything between 50 and 55.  But that is still not close enough to 69 in 1851.

So, either the age in 1851 was incorrect or she had already died before 1851.  She was alive in 1841, and of the Elizabeth Docwra deaths from then to 1851 on FindMyPast, one only died in Herts:

First name(s) ELIZABETH
Last name DOCURA
Gender Female
Birth day -
Birth month -
Birth year -
Age -
Death quarter 3
Death year 1843
District ROYSTON
County Hertfordshire
Volume 6

and her burial was:

First name(s) ELIZABETH
Last name DOCKWRA
Birth year -
Death year 1843
Burial year 1843
Burial day 14
Burial month 8
Place ROYSTON
Church description INDEPENDENT CHAPEL
Church denomination INDEPENDENT

Country England
Record set National Burial Index for England & Wales

It might be worth while getting the death certificate as this might give her age and say if she was married or a widow.
______________

TFPL, Nov 2018: Using the new GRO death index that includes death ages:

Name: Age at Death (in years):
DOCURA, ELIZABETH     61
GRO Reference: 1843  S Quarter in ROYSTON & BUNTINGFORD  Volume 06  Page 324

This gives a birth year of 1782 +/-2 years, say.
______________

She married Thomas Docra at Radford Semele, Warks.  At first sight this appeared to be her baptism:

First name(s) Elizabeth
Last name Purden
Gender Female
Birth year -
Birth place -
Baptism year 1775
Baptism date 04 Jun 1775
Place Radford Semele
County Warwickshire
Country England
Father's first name(s) John
Father's last name Purden
Mother's first name(s) Mary
Mother's last name -
Record set England Births & Baptisms 1538-1975

But then two more Elizabeth Purden/Purdin/Purdon baptisms were found.  FindMyPast says it came from FamilySearch and they show also the parish registers from Warwickshire Record Office:  The scans of the register had the following Purdin/en/on baptisms:

1768: May 29 Mary Daughter of John and Mary Purdin
1769: July 9 Elizabeth Daughter of John and Mary Purdin
1772: July 19 Isack the son of John and Mary Purdin
1774: August 14 Joseph son of John and Mary Purdin
1775: June 4th Elizabeth, daughter of John & Mary Purdin
1776: June 2 George the son of John and Mary Purdin
1777: December 25 Thomas the son of John and Mary Purdin
1779: June 20 Charlotte the Daughter of John and Mary Purdon [sic]
1786: April 19 Susannah the daughter of John and Mary Purdon
1789: June 2 Charles the Son of John and Mary Purdon
1791: April 22 Mary the daughter of John and Sarah [sic] Purdon
1791: Dec 30 Thomas the Son of John and Sarah Purdon
1793: Nov 30 Elizabeth the Daughter of John and Sarah Purdon   < - - - - -
1795: May 14 Ann the Daughter of John and Sarah Purdon
1809: May 8 Kitty(?) the Daughter of Joseph and Charlott Purdon
1810: Dec 27 Susannah the Daughter of John and Mary [sic] Purdon
1812: Nov 24 Mary Ann Daughter of Charles & Martha [sic] Purdon

And some Purden/in/on burials at Radford Semele:

1802: Feb 4 Sarah the wife of John Purdon
1802: Feb 11 John the son of John and Sarah Purdon
1802: Feb 19 Ann the Daughter of John and Sarah Purdon
1809: June 23 William Son of John and Mary Purdon
1810: June 4 Susanna the Daughter of John and Mary Purdon
1811: June 12 Charlott the Daughter off Joseph and Charlott Purdon

From all the above the bext fit for the Elizabeth Purden who married Thomas Docwra in Radford Semele on 16 May 1818 is this birth; she would have been 25 at marriage:

   1793: Nov 30 Elizabeth the Daughter of John and Sarah Purdon   < - - - - -

However the obvious poverty of her family does not correspond with the wealthy woman who died in 1843, so I think that the following will, and probably also the death, is not one written by the wife of this Thomas Docwra.

The National Archives has a will for the above death:

Reference: PROB 11/1988/38
Description: Will of Elizabeth Docwra, Widow of Kneesworth , Cambridgeshire
Date: 18 November 1843
Held by: The National Archives, Kew
Legal status: Public Record(s)

This would be a third of the price to obtain than the death cert, so is to be recommended.  Now purchased, see the Will Notes.

Duly purchased.
_______________

In her will, dated “seventeenth day of November in the uear of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two” and proved at London on 18th November 1843, she lists (in seven turgid pages) by the oaths of her daughters and executors Elizabeth Moule, Emma Gerdener and Ann Titchmarch, she lists:

That she was a widow;
Her daughter Eliza Moule, married to Stephen Hughes Moule,
Her daughter Emma married to John Gardiner,
Her daughter Ann, wife of Thomas Titchmarsh,
Mr Joseph Phillips, tenant of the land given to Ann Titchmarsh,
Her friend Mr Thomas Sutton of Bassingbourne, to be trustee of a fund for her daughters,

She refers to properties in Herts and Cambs.

No sons, but she may have taken the view that such were provided for by the will of their father.

The only marriage of Thomas and Elizabeth Docra from 1815 to 1825:

Name: Thomas Docwra
Spouse's Name: Elizabeth Purden
Event Date: 16 May 1818

But six years from marriage to the birth of their first child seems rather long.  However Family Search does have these two baptisms between 1818 and 1824:

Christening Date (Original): 06 FEB 1822
Christening Place: BLUNTISHAM CUM EARITH, HUNTINGDON, ENGLAND

Mother's Name: Elizabeth

And just to muddy the waters a bit there are two earlier births in Cheshunt:

So I don’t when their marriage might have been!  Let’s try a wider range of marriage dates, but this still give the above marriage in 1818.

And I’ve now found the image of the parish Register entry for this marriage in FindMyPast, so am putting the transcript here:
