This sort of thing usually means that the current spouse was previously married, probably to a Watkins in this case. However no such marriage can be found so it could have been a change of name for a partnership. Nor could any birth be found of a Watkins with a mother’s name of Hamilton. The West-Hamilton marriage certificate might simplify the puzzle a tad.
