Here’s his birth:
Surname First name(s) District Vol Page

Fergusson Claud I. Wight 2b 591
His marriage:

BOURNE Robert James Elham 2a 2348
FERGUSSON Claud Elham 2a 2348
Godden Emily Jane Elham 2a 2348
GOLDEN Hilda Mary L Elham 2a 2348
But this does not enable me to identify which of Godden and Golden was bis wife.
No children found for Fergusson and Golden surnames, nor for Furgusson and Godden. However in the 1911 census Robert James Bourne had a wife Emily Jame, married for 9 years and with 2 children. So Claud Ferguson married Hilda Mary L Golden.

Was this notice in the London Gazette of 21 October 1910 of any significance to him?

Curiously the internet site <
http://www.gritquoy.com/genealogy/> which led me to discover the above marriage and census also gave his death as 1st May 1927 in Wye, Kent which is absolutely not to be found on FreeBMD or The Genealogist.
Here’s what FreeBMD gives for a phonetic search on Fergusson with no forename in all quarters of 1927:
Surname First name(s) Age District Vol Page
Deaths Mar 1927 (>99%)
Ferguson Robertina C 19 Tonbridge 2a 138
