Her relationship to Robert II is not clear.  Don McArthur suggests that she was the dau. of Isabel Lindsay and John Maxwell of Pollok.  That John Maxwell, 4th of Pollok married Isabel Lindsay, granddaughter of Walter Steward, 6th High Steward of Scotland, is well established.  But in William Fraser’s “Maxwells of Pollok”, pub 1863, Vol I, pp. 11 to 16, there is no mention of a daughter Egidia.  The children of John and isable are listed as 3 s. and 2 daus., the latter being Janet and Agnes, though their is one reference to a ‘Lady of Seer’ as his sister in the testament of the second son, Robert of Calderwood; however nothing further can be discovered of this lady.
