But her and Harry’s church marriage certificate has been found which certifies both her age, 20, and her father, Sir Arthur Grant (deceased). Mer mother Evelyn Grant witnessed the marriage (her sister Evelyn was by then Evelyn Deakin and also signed the certificate, in the margin).

No death or probate index record can be found for her.
BUT this announcement was place in the Daily Telegraph around December 2007:
“Jean, widow of Sir Harry Legge-Bourke KBE, DL, MP and mother of Bill, Heneage and Victoria died on 10th December 2007 in London, aged 90, after a long illness. Funeral 12 noon Thursday 20th December at Chelsea Old Church SW3 followed by private cremation. Family flowers only. Interment at a later date in Ely Cathedral.”
And this announcement was made around April 2008:
“Lady Legge-Bourke's ashes will be interred beside her husband's in Ely Cathedral during Evensong at 4p.m on Sunday 18th May.”

TFPL, Jan 2018: Beryl Holt has e-mailed with this excellent information:
“She was born at Brocton Hall, Brocton, Stafford on 18th August 1917 and was baptised in our village church, St Thomas's, Walton on the Hill, Stafford on 22 September, 1917.
“Her father was at that time Commandant of the German POW Camp on Cannock Chase.”
I think this points to the fact that the above birth index entry for the birth of Jean Grant in Stafford district was for her. The birth certificagte would of course prove this.
Later: Beryl very kindly added this:
“I have not seen the birth certificate but I have had access to Sir Arthur's diary in which he says - "18th August 1917. A fine girl was born to us this morning at about 6.30 a.m. Dr Blumers being there. (Not sure about the name as difficult to read) I was called to Brocton Hall at about 4.15 so I had a pretty long day."
“The details of the baptism were found in our Parish Magazine. I do not have ready access to this but I am almost certain that the baby was baptised Catherine Jean.”
I think this will do for evidence as I am not sufficiently concerned to purchase a copy of the birth certificate. Perhaps we can wait for the 1921 census for confirmation.
