It is highly likely that John Delves was of the family of Doddinton, Cheshire.  Refer to the pedigree on p. 522 of Omerods History of Cheshire, vol II.  However what is also clear is that there were a series of Jhn Delves, eldest sons and I cannot whork out which one he might have been; certainly there is no duaghter Elizabeth shown to have married a John Aston.
