“In the hope of a happy resurrection Here rests the body of Catherine, wife of John Stone, Esqr., Lord of this mannor, daughter of Sir John Carleton, Bart. (nephew and of the elder house to Sir Dudley Carleton, Viscount Dorchester, and of dame Anne, daughter of Sir Richard Houghton, of Houghton Tower in the county of Lancaster, Bart.) who departed this life Jul. xxviii, Ao. mdclviii. and was interred Aug 1, having been the mother of nine sons and one daughter. She left behind her six of that number, five sons and one daughter.”
