A Valentine George O’Connor died aged 32 in Q4 of 1903; I wonder if he was a son?

In 1881 this Valentine was with his family at 8 Edward St, Bathwick, Somerset:
Valentine, Head, aged 40, b. Ireland, Major on half-pay
Victoria, Wife, aged 28 [sic, actually 34], b. Weymouth, Dorset
Wm H. F., son, aged 8, b. Jersey, Channel islands
Bertie E. V., son, aged 6, b. Preston, Lincolns
Valentine R, son, aged 4, b. Weymouth, Dorset
Chas J. W., son, aged 1, b. Ireland
and
Sarah Crispin, aunt, unm., aged 64, b. Lulworth, Dorset
Mary E Crispin, Niece, unm., aged 19, b. Liverpool
plus a nurse.
Might the above Valentine George have been away at school? Or what? But the 1881 census shows another Valentine of another family and 10 years old who must be the lad who died in 1903.

In 1903 a Valentine O’Connor witnessed the marriage of his son Charles J W on 2 oct 1906; might this have been him?
