Notes for Elizabeth Adeline Glover
m. (1) N. N., (2) Francis Blackwood.
Her marriage record on the BMD index images has her name as ‘Elizabeth Adeline Asbury’. Sounds like a CP correction?
FreeBMD, with its marvellous marriage search facility has produced a possible earlier marriage for her:
Edward Jacomb Asbury m. Elizabeth Adeline Glover in Edmonton district, Middlesex in . This sounds a little early, though, for her still to be childbearing with four children to FJLB in the late 1870s.
I can’t find Edward Jacomb Asbury’s birth on FreeBMD, possibly b. before Jul 1837. But his death is on FreeBMD: Eward Jacomb Asbury aged 50, Q2 of 1880, East Retford district, vol 7b, p. 7. That date accound for the speedy marriage in April of that year.
I find Elizabeth Adeline Glover’s birth either.
In the 1881 census she gave her age as 36, born in London, and was definitely ‘Elizabeth’ so I have changed her from CP’s ‘Frances’. They had with them a relative named Elizabeth Glover (her mother?) which confirms that her maiden name was Glover, so that too has been changed.
An Elizabeth A Blackwood d. in Q4 of 1902 in Amersham, but that might or might not have been her. Try the 1901 census?
Notes for Francis James Lindsay & Elizabeth Adeline (Family)
CP relates that they had four children before actually marrying.
