Notes for Christian Crichton
m. (1) Sir Robert Colville, (2) Alexander Erskine.
CP between the Erskine and Crichton articles clearly states that she was the dau. of the first lord Sanquhar. However SP fairly equally clearly states that she was the daughter of the father of the first lord. At least the first lord married a Christian which makes it more likely that they were her parents. I’ve put a question on the soc.genealogy.medieval discussion group on this.

Chris Phillips asked if any more information could be found on Christine Crichton’s dates which led me to finding that her 1st hustband was also in The Scots Peerage, in the Colville of Culross article, vol II, p. 540-1. She m. Robert in 1450, so would have been born around 1435 to make her 15 at marriage. The first lord Crichton did not marry until around 1450 (SP III, 222-4) at the earliest so there is no way they could have been the parents of Christian Crichton who m. Alex Erskine. So Christian Crichtom was a sister of the first lord and her parents were Sir Robert Crichton and Elizabeth __.
