It is odd that she is called heir as there is in SP a later Robert Lauder of the Bass living in 1556, SP II, 160. he was contracted to marry Jane Hepburne but failed to do so.
Further in 1496 there was another Robert Lauder of The Bass, SP VIII, 432. he married Isabel Hay, dau. of John, first lord Hay of Yester.
Thirdly there was a third Robert Lauder contracted in marriage to an Elizabeth Hay, natural dau. of John 3rd lord Hay, in 1558. (Possibly the same as mentioned in the first case.)
Fourthly there was a Robert Lauder of the Bass whose dau. Katherine m. David Home of Cranshaws, perhaps around 1568. She was previously married to John Swinton of that Ilk and thirdly m. George Home of Broxmouth. She died in1604.
