He and his wife Margaret Gascoigne had two daughters and co-heirs. The other daughter was Joan who married, as his second wife, Sir Edward Musgrave of Hacla; (ref Betham’s baronets). (And Betham also reports that Xtopher Ward, whom he says was of Gryndall, Yorks, was standard-bearer to Henry VIII as the siege of Bologne.)

The following is from the Institute of Historical Research’s Letters and Papers, Foreign and Domestic of Henry VIII, vol 6, pub 1882, pp. 121-144 and is headed “
Grants in March 1533” ...
“4. Thos. Arundell. Custody of the manors of Genendaille, Ewisheley, Estholt, Neweby, and Husborne, York, lately belonging to Sir Christopher Ward, deceased ; during the minority of Francis Nevile, son and heir of Clara Nevell ; the said manors being in the King's hands during the said minority by reason of the attainder of Thomas late cardinal of York. Westm., 11 Feb. 24 Hen. VIII. Del. Westm., 6 March.—P.S. Pat. p. 2, m. 26.”
This establishes that Xtopher Ward was quite wealthy with five manors.

From G A Moriaty’s article in The Genealogists’ Magazine, I have discovered that W Paley Baildon included a well researched account of Christopher Warde’s ancestors in his book “Baildon and the Baildons”, printed privately by Catherine Press (and available these days on CDROM from Quintin Publications:
http://www.quintinpublications.com/). This occupied the whole of chapter six, pp. 221 to 276 and ends with two well-researched and justified family trees. I am using this to add eleven generations before this Christopher Ward.
