Notes for Henry Dayrell
Lipscomb shows a further three generations of Dayrells before him, but I think I have stretched credibility too far already.
However in Keats-Rohan’s Domesday Descendants, p. 254 under Radulf Dairel, there is a Henry who held half a fee in Hanworth, Middlesex in 1210-12 and this looks the same person as this Henry that Lipscombe seems to be talking about. As such, Henry was preceded by a Robert in 1772 and his father was probably Radulf, the subject of K-R’s report.
Lipscombe does not agree with K-R but there are not a million miles apart in the earlier generations. I am assuming the Henry’s successors are there or threabouts.
