Notes for Sir William Gaskon
Either he or his father were Justice of the King's bench in 1401 and died on 6th Dec 1419.
Brad Verity on soc.gen.med on 2 April 2007 shows that he was descended from Joan Beaufort:
Joan Beaufort = (1) Ferrers
|
Mary Ferrers (1392-1458) = ... Neville
|
John Neville (-1482) =
|
Joan Neville = Sir William Gascoigne (d. 1463)
|
William Gaskon (c. 1450-1487) = Margaret Percy
Wm’s parents are clearly shown in the 1584-5 Yorks visitation with his John Neville grandfather.

The 1585 Yorks visitation gives 7 generations of Gascoignes before him. I might add a few if I could believe that his dau. Ann actually married Ralph Nevill.

April 2010, TFPL: The VCH for N. Yorks vol 2 indeed gives this marriage. So it is looking more likely that these Gaskons/Gascoignes are among our ancestors and this adds in the following families:
The mother of this William, Margaret dau. of Thomas Clarell
Jane daughter of Henry Wyman
Elizabeth, dau. of Sir Alexander Mowbray,
Margaret dau. & hr of Nicholas Franke of Alwodley
Elizabeth dau. & Heir of William Bolton
Jane dau. of John Gawthorp.
