Notes for Douglas Collard
In the 1901 census he was aged 41 and living at Carn (or Cass) Brea, Herne Bay, Kent, with a wife Gertrude M (Collard) aged 30 and 5 children of ages 3 to 12, two of whom had been born at Stodmarsh.
The 1901 census says he was a Merchant Corn and Timber and was born at Hilboro, Kent.

In 1911 they were in Folkestone in a 12 room house and had 7 children with them, the elder three being away. The census stated that they had had 10 children of whom none had died:
