Ormerod's Cheshire, Vol III, p. 24 has a very different pedigree for the Lathums and the descent to the Stanleys. Ormerod and Helsby, the editor of the second edition, both expressed dissatisfaction with their version but said it was an improvement on what went before! Anyhow it looks like it is best forgotten in the light of subsequent research.
