John Ravilous, posting to s.g.m on 21 Dec 2005, suggested that Jane (or Joan) might be a dau. of Sir Thomas Mallory. Evidence is being sought.
In Oct 2006, John posted that it was looking fairly cast iron that Joan was in fact the daughter of Henry de Melton, d. bef 9 Apr 1330, and the niece of William de Melton, archbishop of York 1317-1310. He also sorted out the Conyers family of Joan’s first marriage.
