Sir Francis Cullen Grant
12th Baronet of Monymusk
Younger son of Sir Arthur Grant, 10th Bt
He was born 5th October 1914
And was educated at Stowe.
He qualified as an electrical engineer,
served with the Royal Engineers during the Second World War
and was mentioned in despatches in the Normandy campaign 1944-45.
On his return to Monymusk
he proved a good laird,
a sound and go-ahead farmer, and a public-spirited man.
He married 29th June 1953
Jean Margherita Tollemache
daughter of Captain H.D. Tollemache, R.N.
Sir Francis died 31st August 1966.
He was full of vigour to his life’s end
and is sorely missed by very many friends,
by his family, his wife and their children
Archie, Francis, Duncan, Catriona and Sarah
who always love and remember him.
“And life is eternal and love is immortal,
and death is only an horizon,
and an horizon is nothing
save the limit of our sight.”
