Deathaft 1225
GeneralPoss. the legit. heir of her bro Richard.
Notes for Roese de Lucy
m. (1) John de Douvres, (2) Nicholas fitz Alan.
Moriarty says that she was the dau. of Geoffrey de Lucy and granddaughter of Richard de Lucy the Justiciar of Henry II. Further he says she was the heir of Richard as her father dvp. However CP shows that Geoffrey had a son Geoffrey who had male issue so how could Roese be an heiress?
CP in the footnotes to the Lucy article, Vol VIII, p. 257, suggests that Roese and her brother Richard, who apparently dsp, were leigitimate and that Geoffrey may well have been illegitimate.
