His baptism:, transcribed by me from the image of the Baptism regfister:

“                  Page 12

“in the County of Essex in the Year 1851
“. . . .
“When baptized:
“No:

In the margin is added “Privately. Received into Church - Febry 9th”

This indicates that Henry Blomfield was thought unlikely to survive so was baptised soon after birth, probably by his father and within their house.  Then this was repeated on the 9th February in the Church, publicly.  This places his birth in early January.

There are far too many Henry Browns in the 1881 census, but this is him with, I think from his birth place, his cousin George S Park:

There are only two deaths on FreeBMD for a Henry B Brown born in 1850-1 between 1881 and 1950:

Surname  First name(s)   Age  District   Vol  Page
Deaths Mar 1896   (>99%)
Brown    Henry Bradshaw  45   Greenwich   1d   698
Deaths Mar 1901   (>99%)
Brown    Henry Bates     51   Marylebone  1a   381

But neither is him.  Though as a coffee planter he probably went back to his plantations and may have died there.
______________

One internet site indicates he went to Australia and had a family of Bromfield Browns there: <http://tww.id.au/>.  And <https://www.bellsite.id.au/helen_tree/HTMLFiles/HTMLFiles_09/P8964.html>; has a list of descendants too, though both sites suffer from the usual lack of availability of the Vital Records from the Register Offices in Australia.
_______________

On 24 Sep 1875, the London Gazette had a notice stating that an accounting partnership between Henry Blomfield Brown and John Hepburn Dudgeon had been mutually dissolved.

This gives this career path:
1871: Bank clerk,
1875: Accountant,
1881: Coffee planter.
_______________

Nov 2012, TFPL: I have followed up the above first internet site and got my own copy of Henry’s marriage record (at a price for image only of $Aus 23.  While this was expensive, it was worth it to verify the viability of the information on this site, which had in fact included the marriage reference number totally correctly.  So I will accept their information on the descendants without spending further money!

The site includes that he was at one stage mayor of Geelong; his marriage record includes that at marriage he was an estate agent.

Notes for Henry Blomfield & Minna Spencer (Family)
Their marriage register image includes the following:

Reg No: 570
When and Where: June 14 1883, Christ Church, Geelong
Names: Henry Blomfield Brown; Minna Spencer Wills
Condition: Bachelor; Spinster
Children: (none)
Birthplace: Boreham Essex, England; Point Henry, Victoria
Profession: Estate agent
Age: 32; 27
Residence: Ryrie St; Western beach
Parents: [His] Henry Brown, Clerk in Holy Orders; Maria (Blomfield)
[Hers] Horatio Spencer Wills, Land owner; Elizabeth (Wyre)
A Ref NO: 1911

Notes: Very clearly he did not make out that his surname was ‘Blomfield-Brown’ but that Blomfield was a forename.  His children appear to have hyphenated names, according to Celene Muller and Tom Wills’ excellent site of Wills family members in Australia.
