Notes for Samuel Latham
In 1851 he was single, of independent means and living in Clerkenwell, London.

In 1861 he was married, his wife was Ann Eliza A aged 40 and born in Treston, Northumberland.  He was a Local Director [of] Masham Insce Office.

He and his wife are missing from the 1871 census and in 1881 his wife was recorded as a widow.  So he died somewhere between 1861 and 1881.
______________

This death in Kent looks like his, it agrees with his birth date:

Surname First name(s) Age District Vol  Page
Deaths Jun 1870   (>99%)
Latham Samuel 43 Bridge 2a 419

Notes for Samuel & Annie Eliza Wright (Family)
This, among the many Samuel Latham marriages looks most like theirs, from her initials in the 1861 census:

Surname First name(s) District Vol  Page
Marriages Dec 1856   (>99%)
Fenwick Annie Eliza Wright Manchester 8d 332
Latham Samuel Manchester 8d 332

In fact the transcription of the 1861 census shows her third initial an an ‘A’.  This initial is a shape that is somewhat pointed at the top and is like a printed capital ‘A’.  But the capital ‘A’s that the enumerator uses elsewhere are all large rounded one, like the small letter writ large.  So the third initial is not an ‘A’ but what was it?.  Obviously the thought is that it must be the ‘W’ of this marriage information but there is no doubt that it does not appsar to have the shape of a ‘W’.  The resolution to this is to find capital ‘W’ elsewhere on the page; there is a William nine line above Annie’s; there is no doubt that the initial letter of ‘William’ is the same as Annie’s third initial.  So this marriage entry and the 1861 census netry are for the same person.  Annie is to be congratulated on having three initial and on encouraging people to recordd all three on formal occasions.

All that said, it is evident from the censuses that she had no children; so that line of Lathams ended with her husband and her.
