In the 1564 Devon Visitation there is a Christopher Coplestone, aged 26 in 1620, who m. Catherine dau. of a Dennis of Glos who was s & h of Sir Maurice Dennis. This may yet be the right Coplestone in spite of some duff Denys info. Anyhow the entry goes on to say that he spent all his fortune, turned Roman Catholic and was disinherited; however he was buried at St Margaret’s Westminster on 29th June 1650.
