Notes for Mary Brydges
The 1683 Monmouth Visitation states that she was the second daughter of Thomas bridges of Cornbury Park, in Com. Oxon, second brother to John Briggs, Lord Chandos. This is in contrast to the information in Smyth's "Lives of the Berkeleys" where she was the dau. of Lord Chandos. DNB, for Sir Nich. Arnold, agrees with Smyth.
