Notes for John Brown
His baptism transcript by me from an image of the parish register:
[ Camden > St Andrew, Holborn > 1792-1805 ]
“ Christenings March 1798
“. . . .
“John son of George and Margaret Brown Ely Place 23”

In 1829, after his father had died, William Brown was the recognised eldest surviving son. So John must have died before then.
But no information found that leaps out to say this is the death of John, the son of George and Margaret Brown. Not from any of the major databases.

However there is this burial that could be him for three reasons:
(a) the place of death or residence was Ely Place where his parents were living at the time of his baptism and those of immediate elder sister Lousa and his immediate younger brother William,
(b) Bunhill fields was used for the burial of his elder brother George five years previously,
(c) The age of 4 months agrees with the with a birth in January prior to his christening in March, as above:
First name(s) John
Last name Brown
Birth year 1798
Burial year 1798
Age at death 4m
Burial date 12 May 1798
Parish Bunhill Fields
City London
Address Ely Place
County Middlesex
Country England
Source City of London Burials 1754-1855
(Transcribed by John Hanson.)
Ancestry may have an image of the burrial register so I’ll have a look for that. But it had nothing
Unfortunately the image of the Bunhill Fields burial records have vanished from the web, though I still have the copy for John’s brother George who died in 1794. But the date is similar to George’s, which I did accept as being his, so I am accepting this too.
And that resolves the mystery of John’s death which his young brother William had no information for is his otherwise complete lists of his families’ births, marriages and deaths.
