“Mr George Broun Merchant in Leith and Margaret Balfour, his wife, George born 15th bapt 25th October 1793 by the Rev Mr Thomas Scott Minister of the Gospel Ballin?? Kiln, Mr Cornelius Elliott Writer to the Signet Edinh. and Mr James Elliott Residente there.”
Cornelius Elliott was related to Margaret Balfour’s maternat grandfather who was William Elliott.

His burial records simply cannot be found on Scotland’s People.
So he died in England, making their move down south a tad earlier than previously thought.
This burial entry must be his:
