Notes for Henry de Tracy
In 1213 he was granted the other half of the Barnstaple barony, previously held by the Braoses who had rebelled against the king c. 1212.  Thus he then held all of Juhel of Totnes' barony.
This gift fuels the speculation the Henry de Tracy in fact married the daughter of Juhel of Totnes, though it may have been administrative convenience.

The Glos visitation gives his wife as Matilda, dau. of Wm de Beause.

Carol McDonald has reported the same wife and given her parents as Maud Calere and William (IV) Braose (d. 1210).  She found this documentation to refer to the marriage:

BRAOSE MATILDA Daughter of William I Braose, married Henry II Tracy
