Feudal baron of Winterbourne St Martin, Dorset.
Probably the son of Alfred I of Lincoln (qv in DP, pp. 141-2).
He m. either the widow or the dau (and heir) of Hugh fitz Grip as he inherited that Hugh's estates in Dorset. (See K-R's DP 441, uxor Hugo fitz Grip, and 454, Walter filius Grip.)
He had sons Robert and Samson de Lincoln and a dau. who m. Wm. fitz Walter of Haslebury.
He was a justiciar in Dorset from 1106.
