Notes for Edmund Dunch Lord Burnell
According to Coll. Top. et Gen., iii, 293, Edmund was summoned as a member of the Commonwealth House of Lords in 1658. Further there is a facsimile of this summone on vol ii, p. 162 of Mark Noble’s The Protectorate Hose of Cromwell. But he is not in the list of such in CP’s Vol IV, Appx G, which they justify by saying that he was not listed in the Journal.
The title of Burnell was chosen because his wife was a co-representative of that barony.
