Notes for Thomas FitzEustace
He may be the Sir Thos fitz Eustace in Moor’s ‘Kts of Ed I’ who was of Casewick, Lincs and Willesthorp manor.  If so he died shortly before 14 Oct 1318, had a wife Amice who survived him and a grandson Thomas son of Thomas.

The above has been corroborated by Michael Andrews-Reading and others on s.g.m in Oct 2006.

R J Ivens in his chapter on the Historical background of Shenley village, Bucks has Thomas filius Eustace reaching his majority in 1283, hence born around 1262 and dying c. 1341, thus at the ripe old age of c.79.  At his death he is reported to have had a widow Agnes who survived till 1361 and a son Thomas aged thirteen.  Therefore Thomas the son was born in 1328 when Thomas the father was 66.  There are vaious docuemnts that sruvive from 1320 that include Agnes in the grant or land holding.  I wonder if (a) Thomas the father m. Agnes around 1320 when he was already 59 and (b) if Thomas had an earlier wife or (c) if Thomas and Agnes were not the next generation after the Thomas who was born around 1262.
