Notes for Joan Moray
CP says that she was the widow of Sir Thomas Moray and heir of Morice Moray. However it is now proposed, though I have yet to see the reasoning, that she was the daughter of Sir Thomas Moray who was lord of Bothwell and the means by which Archibald Douglas acquired that barony. It was, apparently Thomas Moray who had married Joan Mentieth, heir of Morice Moray. See post by John Ravilous referring to this on s.g.m on 1st Jan 2006 titled “Helen of Strathearn...”
