Notes for Fulk de Orreby
CP shows him "presumably" to be a descendant of Herbert de Orreby, aka Herbert filius Adelard, d. 1194, who m. (K-R's DD 859) Agnes de Kyme, a descendant of the Domesday Waldin Ingeniator, d. bef 1115 (K-R's DP 446).
Ormerod, Vol III, p. 548, has Fulk to be a son of Philip who was a son of Herbert and this is the line I am following.
Nov 2007, TFPL: Orreby, III, 325, gives an IPM for Mary Roos re Church Coppenhall which has an Alicia who was sister of John de Orreby who was son of Fulco de Orreby and which John de Orreby (I think) was gt-gt-grandfather of Mary Roos. Alicia was wife of Peter Corbet. It then gets slightly unclear but asserts that Alice, wife of William Brereton was sister of the recently deceased Richard Corbet and thus heir to the manor of Fulke Stapleford. If this link can be established confidently, then Fulk is an ancestor.
Later: Found the line in the Orreby pedigree, in Ormerod, III, 548. (Bingo!)
