Notes for William (I) Peverel
Feudal baron of Peak, Derbys.
Granted feudal barony (2nd class) of Wrinstead, Kent after 1088 when Odo of Bayeux was banished.
Sanders' account (Baronies p. 151) of relationships in the descent of this barony is thoroughly confused compared to Keat-Rohan in Domesday, Descendants, pp. 1065-9. Sanders asserts that Wm. (I) dsp which both CP in IV, Appx I, p. 761 and Keats-Rohan refute. As the CP article, which is closely reasoned, was published in 1914, Sanders must not have been aware of it and did not take any of it into account.
