Notes for Hugh de Port
Ended as a monk of St Peter's Glos.
Of Port-en-Bessin, Calvados, arr. Bayeus, Cant. Ryes.
Was he the father of Henry de Port and thus the gt-grandfather of Adam de Port, lord of Basing? Keats-Rohan is not explicit so this may be pure speculation. Nothing in DP so probably the answer is NO.
CP says of Emma merely that "she was nearly related to Hugh de Port, ancestor in the male line of the St Johns" but in Hugh's article she says he had two daus, Adelidis and Emma, wife of William I de Percy.
