Created 2nd Aug 1667

In the name of God Amen I Sir Edward Barkham of Tottenham High Crosse in the countie of Middlesex knight and Barronett being weake of body but of a perfect mynd and memory (Thanks be to Almighty God) doe make this my last will and Testement in manner and forme following Imprimis

I committ my soul into the hands of my creator and my body to bee decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter named And for the worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless mee I dispose in manner and forme following Imprimis

I devise to my sonne William Barkham his heyres and assignes forever my house within Tottenham high crosse with all my lands tenements and hereditaments thereunto belonging scituate lying and being in the parishes of Tottenham or Edmonton in the Countie of Middx

Item I devise to my sonne John Barkham his heires and assignes forever all those my houses lands tenements or hereditaments whatsoever scituate lying or beinge in little Moorefields London and whereof Nathaniall Fordham is my receivour

Item I devise to my said sonnes William and John Barkham their heires and assignes all my ground in Cheapside and Saint Laurence Lane London upon which were heretofour erected severall houses or Tenem’ts which were sinerated by the late fire and my will and meaning is that my said sonnes William and John shall enioy the said parcells of ground and the proffitts thereof to them their heires and assignes for ever

Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth Barkham the summe of fifteene hundred pounds and my land in Newton to be paid ^and^ raysed out of my estate hereafter devised to my executors In the first place after my just debts are satisfied and payd And my will and meaning is that my executors shall pay to my said daughter Elizabeth legall Interest for the said summe of fiveteene hundred pounds until shee shall receive the said summe of fiveteene hundred pounds

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Lucy Barkham the summe of fiveteene hundred pounds

Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Juliana the summe of fiveteene(?) hundred pounds

And for the enabling my executors for paying my just debts and the legacies herein before given and devised I doe here by devise all that my Mannor of Walton in the County of Norfolke with(?) all farmes rents tenements and hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said mannor belonging to be sold with conveynient speed by John Allen Esquire and my sonne William Barkham and John Barkham or any two of them whome by these presents I constitute ordaine And appoynt my executors of this my last will and Testament And my further will and meaning is that the land John Allen William Barkham and John Barkham whome I have appoynted my executors as aforesaid shall also with all conveynient speed sell and dispose of all my lands and tenements lyeing in Castle(?) Acre in the Countie of Norfolk And of all other my lands tenements or hereditaments whatsoever which are not heretofore by these presents devises or formerly setled upon my eldest sonne Edward Barkham And til such sale can be made my will and meaning is that the rents issues and proffitts of my lands hereby devised to be sold goe towards the paying of my debts and legacies And my will and meaning is that what shall remayne overdue after my debts and legacies and eyther of my personall or reall estate shalbe equally divided betweene my two sonnes William and John Barkham and as a testimonie of my respect to my worthy friend John Allen Esquire I ^do^ hereby give and bequeath unto the said John Allen the summe of ??????

And in witnes that this is my last will and testament I have put so my hand and seale this second day of August in the nineteenth yeare of the raigne of our soveraigne Lord King Charles the second Anno Domini 1667
