Notes for N. N. Waterhouse
According to the pedigree 3 in the Suffolk PRO, this person is Robert Waterhouse, the eldest son, and the mother of this Robert was the second wife, Sibil Savil. This is completely at variance with the article in the Halifax Antiquarian Society. So I have left my earlier accounts alone until I can get hold of the information of:
(a) Robert W's grant of arms on 9 Oct 1572 by Sir Gilbert Dethick, Garter.
(b) The arms granted to his (grand?)son, Rev Robert W., Vicar of Springthorpe in 1633 by Sir Richard St George.
(c) The visitation of York in 1584, Harleian MS 1394, p. 226.
(d) Any later visitation of Lincolnshire.

TFPL, 2021: My current conclusion is that this Waterhouse connection is a fabrication. There is no evidence to be found for the intervening generations between the Waterhouses and the Hallifaxes of the 18th century.
