Notes for Sir Edward Evelyn
he is probably related to an Arthur Evelyn, as told be Caspar verney:

Evelyn/Evelin is a name in my family tree and so I looked it up and found a
curious coincidence. I found Ann Evelyn, who was born in 1661, married in
1682 William Hill, esq. of Teddington, Middlesex. However her father was not
Arthur, but Sir Edward Evelyn, 1st and last Baronet of Long Ditton, in
Surrey (his father and grandfather being Thomas, which name I see you also
have noted). What is the potential that these Ann's are the same? Or that
this William Hill is related to yours? I also have an Arthur Evelyn who was
aged 14 in 1627 and was the son of George Evelin of West Deane in Wiltshire
(which George is one of my ancestors) - this latter is from the Wiltshire
Visitation of 1623 and hence I do not know what became of that Arthur. It is
not uncommon to see families marrying several times over and so perhaps
these bits of jigsaw do belong together in another way yet to be identified.
