Notes for Sir Gilbert Talbot
In the Yorks Visitation of 1563-4 he is "Gilbert" not George, as he is in Burke's Peerage and in Testamenta Vetusta. No idea where I got the George from, as it is plain wrong; now rectifed (May 2003).
He is almost certainly the Sir Gilbert Talbot (Warwicks) who was a knight bachelor in the king’s retinue at the Field of the Cloth of Gold in 1520.
