Notes for Frederick John Gillett
Note that the 1881 census has him as 8 years old and his brother Henry as 10, the other way round to RCL P-L's birth dates. In 1881 he and his brother were with one other as scholars at a curate’s house in nearby Woolwich.
FreeBMD shows a Frederick John born in Q2 of 1872 in the Wangford district of Suffolk. More to the point it also shows a Frederick William Gillett born in the isle of Wight in Q2 of 1871 which date is spot on for the family information.
There are several Frederick John and William marriages on FreeBMD up to 1910 but I cannot say if any are he.

Or, with the ‘J’ initial but an age that was four years too young:

I reckon that his birth certificate needs obtaining to ascertain his exact name and date of birth, then we might be able to have a better insight into when he died. But the latter may yet require purchaisng the odd death certificate.
It might be easier, and cheaper, to wait for the 1921 census and the 1939 National register to appear to see where he was at the time of each.
