CP finds an IPM of 28 Edw. III to confirm that Wm Clinton dps and that his heir was his nephew John Clinton. But the Essex 1612 visitation states that he had a daughter Elizabeth who married Sir John FitzWilliams of Sprotsburch and Elmynne; CP V, p. 519 says that "this is probably an error".
