He was probably born after 1385 as SP II, 221 says he was still a minor when his mother died c. Sept 1304.

TFPL, Feb 2007: John Ravilous has reported that Andrew B W MacEwen has found that Alexander m. a Randolph daughter and had also an unknown daughter who m. John de Montgomery wnos son Alexander then married Elizabeth de Eglinton. Supporting evidence is to be published at a later date. See soc.gen.med on 18 Feb 2007 titled “Montgomery Matters: NN Stewart mother of Sir Alexander”.
