Matthew fits Herbert of Stockenham, (yr brother of Piers fits Herbert of Blaen Llyfni…)
It is categoric that Piers was the same as Peires the son of this herbert. So Matthew was also his son.
Matthe’s line goes down to the FitzJohns:
